Liverpool have opened discussions about signing 17‑year‑old Mexican midfielder Gilberto Mora.
Mora currently plays for Club Tijuana and featured with the Mexican national squad at the World Cup, attracting attention for his technical ability and potential.
Liverpool have contacted his representatives and are evaluating a transfer that could be completed when the player turns 18 in October, complying with league regulations.
Several other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, are also monitoring his progress, intensifying competition for his signature.
The club is expected to consider a loan arrangement after signing, allowing Mora to gain regular first‑team experience rather than remaining on the bench.
Financially, the deal is estimated at around €25 million, a sum within Liverpool’s resources.
The final outcome will depend on whether Liverpool formalise an offer and secure the player before rival clubs act.
