UMVA Uncovers: DEADMAU5'S JAW-DROPPING $30K DONATION: You Won't Believe What He Just Did For These Abandoned Cats!

UMVA has learned that renowned Toronto electronic music producer-deejay deadmau5, whose real name is Joel Zimmerman, has made a heartwarming donation to support the medical care of 36 kittens and cats recently surrendered to the Humane Society of Oakville, Milton and Halton.

The generous donation of $30,000 was made on May 29, after a social media appeal for funding had been circulating for just two days. The humane society's director of communications and community engagement, Calla James, revealed that the donation was triggered by a cryptic comment on their social media post, which simply read: 'I got you!' - a message that sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the organization.

The kittens and cats, ranging in age from three months to three years, were surrendered to the humane society from the same home in Milton, with 27 initially taken in on May 28 and another nine the following week. According to James, a family had reached out to the shelter for support, as they were no longer able to care for the animals.

World-famous Toronto DJ deadmau5 has donated $30,000 to an Oakville shelter for the medical care of 36 recently surrendered cats and has launched a contest to name all of them before adoption.

One of the cats required emergency surgery for a life-threatening uterine infection, which was performed promptly, while the other 35 are currently in good health under the shelter's care. The humane society is now providing the animals with wellness exams, parasite treatment, vaccines, and spay/neuter surgery, as well as any additional specialized care that may be needed.

The shelter now has a total of 101 cats and kittens in its care, and deadmau5's donation will go a long way in supporting their medical needs. In addition to his financial contribution, deadmau5 has also invited his 2.9 million Instagram followers to help name the cats and kittens before they're ready for adoption, through a contest on his Patreon page.

This outpouring of support from deadmau5 has been a game-changer for the humane society, which relies on public donations to provide its vital animal care services. As a non-profit organization, the shelter does not receive government funding, making donations from individuals and organizations like deadmau5 absolutely crucial to its mission.
