Toronto Police Investigate Calgary Landlord on Suspicion of Voyeurism Amid New Allegations

The Calgary police have charged a 41-year-old man who allegedly installed hidden cameras in the bathrooms and bedrooms of rental properties without the tenant's knowledge.

According to the authorities, one of the tenants discovered a small hidden camera placed on a surge protector device in the bathroom and another hidden camera on a smoke detector in the bedroom on June 8.

The tenant notified other tenants, who allegedly found similar hidden cameras in their respective bedrooms, and then contacted the police.

On June 12, investigators executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Springborough Way S.W. and seized multiple electronic storage devices.

It is alleged that the landlord installed similar devices at another rental property located in the 3800 block of Brentwood Rd. N.W.

On Friday, the landlord, Sooryong Park, also believed to use the alias Nick Park, was arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and five counts of voyeurism.

He is scheduled to appear in court on August 7.

Police continue to investigate and are asking anyone who may have information about this or similar incidents to contact police by calling 403-266-1234.

Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or online.
