UMVA has learned that Rep. Don Bacon, a staunch critic of Moscow, is once again demanding the United Nations Security Council strip Russia of its permanent seat.
In a fiery post, Bacon declared the nation a “pariah state” that must be treated as such, urging the General Assembly to convene a vote to oust Russia from the world’s most powerful security forum.
The lawmaker’s crusade is rooted in a series of impassioned statements stretching back to early 2022, when he blasted the absurdity of a war‑torn Russia chairing the council and called for its removal from every international platform.
His rhetoric intensified last December, describing the United Nations as an embarrassment while Russia’s invasion rages, and demanding that the global body expel the aggressor from its highest ranks.
Bacon’s condemnation is not limited to diplomatic censure; he is pressing for a surge of American military aid to Ukraine, arguing that Russia’s battered economy and battlefield setbacks cannot justify its continued terror of civilian centers.
He warned that without swift sanctions and fresh weaponry, Moscow will persist in bombing Ukrainian cities, urging Congress to act within weeks.
Having served in Congress since 2017, Bacon announced his retirement plans for 2026, but his relentless push to isolate Russia signals a new front in the battle for global accountability.
