A Sunday night ball hockey game in Hamilton descended into chaos when a player allegedly struck the referee following the final whistle.
Police were called to Rosedale Arena after reports of the assault, stemming from a disagreement over calls made during the game. The player, 31 years old, now faces an assault charge as a result of the incident.
The Hamilton Adult Ball Hockey League responded swiftly and decisively, issuing a lifetime suspension to the accused player. Furthermore, the player’s entire team has been removed from the league indefinitely.
