Lianna Charles-Moore, the baby’s mother, and the child’s father instinctively sought shelter inside a nearby bodega with their seven-month-old daughter, Kaori, and her two-year-old brother as gunfire erupted.
While comforting her sobbing son within the store, Charles-Moore lifted the visor of Kaori’s stroller and discovered the unimaginable: her baby had been struck by a bullet to the head. The horrifying realization unleashed a wave of anguish.
