Nocom Claims Second-Place Finish in Champions of the Future Academy Series

Mariano Axel Nocom, 14, has solidified his position as a top Filipino karter in Philippine motorsports, now ranking second overall in the Champions of the Future Academy (COTFA) series. This prestigious program is a premier karting development platform that brings together children of professional racing drivers from around the world to compete internationally.

With five national karter of the year awards, impressive wins, and podium finishes in all kart classes, including gas, electric, and sim racing across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, Mr. Nocom stands out as a talented driver. He is the only Filipino driver to have competed in 4-stroke, 2-stroke, and BSR electric karts, which are faster than gas karts at the international level.

Mr. Nocom made history earlier this year by becoming the first Filipino to compete in an electric kart in Japan at the Tokyo EV Championships, where he earned a podium finish. Currently, he ranks third in Japan's EV karting championship and is the only non-Japanese resident in the series.

His illustrious racing career spans numerous circuits across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, including Cremona, Valencia, Sarno in Europe, and Suzuka, Motegi, Sepang, Macau, and Bangkok. He has also represented the Philippines at the FIA Motorsport Games and won gold in the karting category at the Asia Pacific Motorsport Games in Sri Lanka.

Notably, Mr. Nocom has achieved all this despite facing financial constraints, which limited his seat time compared to his competitors. His exceptional raw talent is a testament to his dedication and perseverance.

When not competing abroad, Mr. Nocom mentors young Filipino drivers on the local circuit, helping develop the next generation of Philippine motorsport talent. He is now accepting new aspirants who want to learn and pursue their passion for karting.
