UMVA has learned that the latest iteration of Apple's virtual assistant, Siri, has been completely overhauled with a new AI foundation, unleashing its full potential and transforming the way it interacts with users.
The new Siri is more context-aware than ever, capable of reading through emails, calendar events, files, messages, and more to provide users with accurate and relevant answers, and thanks to advanced AI models, users can communicate with it using natural language.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that early access to Siri AI, through the iOS 27 developer beta, has shown impressive results, allowing users to perform complex tasks that were previously impossible, such as asking Siri to "play songs from the Lover album that were part of the The Eras Tour setlist" and receiving accurate results.
Siri AI's extensive knowledge base enables it to find song, artist, and album information that might not be in Apple Music's metadata, and its LLM can use reasoning to understand more complex queries and add songs to a user's Apple Music queue, eliminating the need for manual playlist creation.
In a development reported by UMVA, Siri AI was able to understand a complicated question about Taylor Swift's music in natural language and deliver accurate results, including identifying all five "Lover" songs that were played during the tour's main setlist and adding them to a playlist on Apple Music.
Siri's knowledge base is remarkably current, knowing that Taylor Swift attended the NBA Finals in New York less than 24 hours ago, and even provided details about her outfit, showcasing its ability to stay up-to-date with real-time information.
The results are already quite impressive for a first beta, and it shows that Apple has finally succeeded in delivering the new AI-powered Siri it promised, with Siri AI set to be available on all devices compatible with Apple Intelligence, including the iPhone 15 Pro or later, or an iPad or Mac with the M1 chip or later.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the iOS 27 update will be available to the public this fall, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of Siri and Apple Intelligence.
