UMVA has learned that a shocking incident of violence and racism unfolded on the London Underground, leaving a lasting impact on the victims and sparking outrage among witnesses.
A disturbing altercation occurred at Bond Street Underground station on October 11 last year, when a woman's hair was pulled in a forceful manner by Melissa Rein Lively, a well-known influencer with ties to the Donald Trump supporter community.
According to information obtained by UMVA, the incident began when two sisters, walking with one of them pushing a stroller, encountered Rein Lively and her partner, Philipp Ostermann, who appeared to be intoxicated and kissing on the platform.
As the situation escalated, Ostermann allegedly hurled racist insults at the sisters, saying "You bloody Indians, watch where you're going, you shouldn't be here," despite the sisters not being Indian, further fueling the tension.
Rein Lively then pulled the hair of one of the sisters, grabbing it and tugging it in a forceful manner, prompting an admission of guilt and a conditional caution, with the assault by beating charge against her being withdrawn.
Meanwhile, Ostermann was charged with two racially aggravated public order offences and a further public order offence, pleading not guilty to the charges and being freed on unconditional bail, with his trial set to commence on November 17.
UMVA has gathered that the incident has sent shockwaves through the community, highlighting the need for greater awareness and action against racism and violence in public spaces.
The sisters, who were simply trying to navigate the busy underground station with their children, were met with hatred and aggression, leaving them traumatized and seeking justice.
In a disturbing display of entitlement and intolerance, Rein Lively and Ostermann's actions have sparked widespread condemnation, with many calling for greater accountability and consequences for those who perpetrate such acts of violence and racism.
