Miami murder trial for OnlyFans star Courtney Clenney delayed again

Miami murder trial for OnlyFans star Courtney Clenney delayed again

OnlyFansstar Courtney Clenney was riding high in early 2022.

She had money, fame, and a glamorous jet-set lifestyle, topped with a luxury Miami condo. And then it all came off the rails in a bloody lover’s spat that left her boyfriend dead.

Then, she was the rising star Courtney Tailor. Now, she is an inmate at the Miami-Dade County Jail, charged with stabbing her boyfriend, Christian “Toby” Obumseli, 27, to death on April 3, 2022.

Her murder trial had been slated to start in December but has now been delayed again, a Florida judge said this week, according toThe Miami Herald. At a hearing, prosecutors and her legal eagles said they were not ready to go.

Miami-Dade Circuit Court Judge Andrea Ricker Wolfson enacted a Dec. 5 deadline for both sides to respond to the filings. A new trial date has not been set.

At one point, Cleney had more than 2 million followers but has been caged since August 2022. She was arrested in Hawaii four months after Obumseli was stabbed to death.

Her lawyers are arguingthat Clenney was acting in self-defence and she has pleaded not guilty. However, social media, family and friends have revealed that the relationship was extremely volatile and that Clenney was violent.

SEEK CASE DISMISSAL

Her team want the case thrown out, claiming misconduct by the prosecution, and they want the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office disqualified over a seized laptop that led to the resignation of the lead prosecutor.

“There is no guarantee as afforded by both the State of Florida and United States Constitution that Ms. Clenney can and will receive a fair trial in this matter based on all the violations committed by the State of Florida,” her lawyers wrote in the 37-page document.

Assistant State Attorney Khalil Quinan stepped down in March after a judge ruled that prosecutors violated attorney-client privilege when they collected texts and emails between Clenney’s parents and their lawyers.

“It is my hope that my withdrawal will facilitate the resolution of the Defendant’s meritless motions, correct the record, and allow these proceedings to refocus on what truly matters: justice for Christian Obumseli,” Quinan wrote in a document when he stepped down.

COMPUTER HACKING SCHEME

Clenney and her parents had earlier been charged in a computer hacking scheme that prosecutors said they uncovered through communications obtained with a warrant. Those charges have been dropped.

Her lawyers have also accused detectives of destroying blood evidence that “would have been helpful to the defence.”

The Herald reports that in another filing, Clenney’s lawyers asked the judge to bar more than 15 of Obumseli’s phone recordings from being played in the trial. Her team argues the recordings were made in the privacy of Clenney’s home.

The recordings capture the OnlyFans star screaming and berating Obumseli while calling him racist slurs. In one, she explodes in rage because he didn’t tell her he said hello to a female friend while on a bike ride.

CCTV footage shows OnlyFans star Courtney Clenney attacking her boyfriend Christian “Toby” Obumseli. She is accused of killing him.

After calling her beau the “N” word multiple times, she tells him “man up b****” and to “shut up and let me slap you, dumb a**!” Her lawyers claimed the dead man would “mentally manipulate” the OnlyFans starlet.

“This manipulative gaslighting behaviour… was just one example of the mental abuse she endured in addition to the physical abuse,” the lawyers wrote.
