Disney World superfan found dead near Magic Kingdom
Summer Equitz, 31, a Disney superfan whose body was found near Magic Kingdom Park at Disney World. Her death was ruled a suicide by the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office.

A hotel guest who was found dead at a Walt Disney World resort has been identified as a Disney superfan.


Summer Equitz, 31, died at the Contemporary Resort, one of the park’s 25 hotels on the Orlando property.


An apparent relative of Equitz posted on a Reddit thread for Disney fans, asking people to call police if they saw the woman at the resort, theDaily Mailreported.


The woman reportedly left her home in Naperville, Illinois, and flew to Orlando without telling anyone, the now-deleted thread said.


“She booked a flight there without telling us, unfortunately,” the relative wrote.


The Orange County Sheriff’s Office initially toldPeoplemagazinethe death was an “apparent suicide” but did not identify victim.


However, Equitz, whose body was found near Magic Kingdom Park, was later identified and her death was confirmed a suicide after the Orange County Medical Examiner’s Office told the outlet the woman died of multiple blunt impact injuries.


Authorities also confirmed Equitz was not struck by a park’s monorail, as was suggested on social media.

An investigation into the death is ongoing.


The tragic incident comes about a week aftera woman in her 60s diedafter riding the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland in California.


The unidentified visitor was believed to have suffered a heart attack on the spooky ride.

In 2022, a California school principaljumped to his death at Disneylandafter leaving behind a suicide note saying life with his wife was “toxic” and “abusive.”


Christopher Christensen had been facing child endangerment charges at the time, though his daughter claimed his wife was the abusive partner.


In a Facebook note, the man blamed the “flawed” legal system for ruining his life.
