A 32-year-old motorcyclist is fighting for his life after he was involved in a three-vehicle collision in a rural area of Georgina on Friday.
York regional Police say officers responded to reports of a “serious” crash involving two vehicles and a motorcycle at the intersection of Ravenshoe and Kennedy Rds. around 8:30 a.m.
“When officers arrived, they located a black motorcycle in the ditch with extensive damage,” Const. Lisa Moskaluk said. “The rider was found nearby suffering from serious injuries.”
She said a dark grey SUV and a silver pickup truck were located near the intersection, “both with visible damage.”
But the occupants of those two vehicles were not seriously injured.
“Initial investigation determined that the motorcycle and SUV were travelling westbound on Ravenshoe Rd. when, for reasons that remain under investigation, the motorcycle struck the rear of the SUV,” Moskaluk said. “The impact caused the SUV to veer into the eastbound lanes, where it collided with the pickup truck.”
Motorcyclist remains in a life-threatening condition
The motorcyclist was airlifted to a Toronto hospital where he remains in a life-threatening condition.
“Investigators are appealing to anyone who has not yet spoken with police, or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area around the time of the collision, to please come forward.” Moskaluk said.
