Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) is remaining defiant even as President Trump has taken the latest step toward terminating his political career.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced on Friday that he was backing Captain Ed Gallrein, Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, fifth-generation Kentucky farmer, and “America First Patriot” to replace Massie as he scorched the Kentucky congressman.
“Third Rate Congressman Thomas Massie, a Weak and Pathetic RINO from the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky, a place I love, and won big SIX TIMES, must be thrown out of office, ASAP!” Trump wrote.
“The incredible people of Kentucky’s 4th Congressional District gave us a mandate to, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, and the person that will help us do that is Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Fifth Generation Kentucky Farmer, Captain Ed Gallrein, a true America First Patriot.”
Massie responded to Trump’s endorsement by running to far-left Politico to trash Gallrein and mock Trump’s “consultants.”
“After having been rejected by every elected official in the 4th District, Trump’s consultants clearly pushed the panic button with their choice of failed candidate and establishment hack Ed Gallrein,” Massiesaid.
“Ed’s been begging them to pick him for over three months now.”
Massie also went on X to ask donors to pony up more money.
“Trump just endorsed someone to run against me. I can beat this candidate if I have your support,” he wrote.
“We just posted our best fundraising quarter ever. Can you help me top it?”

The Gateway Pundit previouslyreportedthat Trump officially declared political war on Massie back in March for opposing the Trump-backed funding bill aimed at preventing a government shutdown.
The President went on toendorsea primary challenger against Massie and compared him to disgraced warmongering turncoat RINO Liz Cheney:

He evencalledon Trump to tone down his political rhetoric following Charlie Kirk’s assassination by a pro-trans leftist, implying that Trump had some role in the poisonous atmosphere that led to the Turning Point USA founder’s death.
