Niagara Falls and the CN Tower will be blue this weekend.
But that’s a good thing for Toronto Blue Jays fans and tourists alike.
As the Blue Jays get set to face the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series, the iconic falls announced Thursday that it will beilluminated with blue lightfor each home game, starting at 8 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday.
The Niagara Falls Illumination Board, which finances, approves and operates all special illumination requests in the tourist hotspot, will light up both the Horseshoe Falls and American Falls in support of the Blue Jays appearing in the Fall Classic for the first time in 32 years.
In January 2023, members of the Blue Jays, including current players Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Chris Bassitt, made a stop in Niagara Falls during their winter tour of Canadian cities and communities.
That tour stop, hosted by Niagara Parks and Niagara Falls Tourism, also included a special illumination of the falls in celebration of the team.
Closer to home, theCN Towerwill also be bathed in a blue hue for Friday’s Blue Jays game which opens the seven-game series.
“As we do when any of Toronto’s major league teams reach the playoffs, the CN Tower is illuminated in the team’s colours during the first home game of each series and then for the final game,” the attraction’slighting request pagesays.
Fans canwatch the tower lit up onlineduring game days, and lucky fans with tickets to World Series at Rogers Centre can also get 15% off a CN Tower general admission ticket on the game day.
