CASINO SHUTDOWN: Michigan Just CRACKED DOWN!

A swift crackdown is underway in Michigan, as regulators move to shield residents from the perils of illegal online gambling. Three more online casinos – Cryptowins Casino, Slotland Casino, and Winaday Casino – have been ordered to cease operations within the state, following warnings issued to eight other sites just weeks prior.

The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) delivered cease and desist letters, asserting these platforms were operating unlawfully. None of the three casinos possess the necessary license or authorization to offer internet gaming or sports betting to Michigan citizens, according to the agency.

“Michigan law is clear—if you want to offer internet gaming in this state, you must be licensed,” stated Henry Williams, Executive Director of the MGCB. He emphasized the significant risk posed to players who frequent these unregulated sites, highlighting the lack of oversight and consumer protections.

Michigan orders three online casinos to halt illegal operations immediately statewide. Logo of the Michigan Gaming Control Board displayed prominently in front of a blurred background showing a laptop and colorful casino chips.

The danger isn’t simply a matter of breaking the law; it’s about financial security. Unlicensed sites offer no guarantee of payouts and leave players vulnerable to fraud. This action is part of a larger, ongoing effort to safeguard Michigan gamblers and maintain the integrity of the state’s legal gaming market.

The MGCB’s letters demand immediate action: a complete halt to accepting bets from Michigan residents and the implementation of measures to block access to their platforms for anyone within the state. This is a firm stance against those attempting to circumvent established regulations.

Since the launch of legal online gaming and sports betting in January 2021, the MGCB has maintained vigilant oversight of online activity. This proactive approach is crucial in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The recent actions build upon previous enforcement efforts. Reports surfaced in September detailing the shutdown of four additional unlicensed casinos targeting Michigan players, and in June, the state issued 100 cease and desist letters to unauthorized operators. The state is aggressively pursuing those who would exploit Michigan residents.

Regulators are also battling a surge in deceptive advertising, with fake casino ads appearing across the state, designed to lure unsuspecting players to illegal websites. The message is clear: protect yourself by sticking to licensed and regulated platforms.
