A Virginia high school football coach, Travis Turner, has vanished, leaving behind a family desperately pleading for his return – not to celebrate an undefeated season, but to confront deeply troubling allegations.
Turner, 46, was last seen entering the woods near his home, a familiar act according to his family, but this time, he left behind everything: his car, wallet, keys, glasses, even the medications he needed.
His wife, Leslie Caudill Turner, initially sought help finding him, filing a missing person report with Virginia State Police, unaware that criminal charges were looming.
Days after his disappearance, authorities secured ten warrants, accusing Turner of five counts of possessing child pornography and five counts of using a computer to solicit a minor – charges that transformed a missing person case into a manhunt.
The family, through their attorney, insists Turner wasn’t fleeing justice when he disappeared; his wife wasn’t aiding an escape, but desperately seeking help to locate him.
Now, the family’s plea is direct and heartbreaking: if Turner is able to hear them, they implore him to return home and face the accusations, to defend himself in court, and to not leave his loved ones to fight this battle alone.
“Leslie pleads for you to come home,” the attorney stated, conveying the raw anguish of a wife and mother. “They love and miss you. They want you to know they are your support.”
The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to Turner’s arrest, intensifying the search.
Turner’s profile was swiftly removed from the Union High School website after the investigation became public, and the school district confirmed a staff member was on administrative leave, though they did not initially name him.
The district later acknowledged the charges filed against the staff member, maintaining a strict policy of limited comment due to the ongoing legal proceedings and ensuring the individual remains barred from school property and student contact.
He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt and sweatpants. Anyone with information is urged to contact 911, Virginia State Police, or the U.S. Marshals Service tip line.
