MALL MAYHEM & HIGHWAY HORROR: Chaos Erupts in Erin Mills!

MALL MAYHEM & HIGHWAY HORROR: Chaos Erupts in Erin Mills!

A brazen attempt to rob Erin Mills Town Centre was thwarted last week, culminating in the swift apprehension of four teenage suspects.

The incident unfolded on a Wednesday afternoon, as four individuals, masked and clad in black, entered the mall wielding hammers. Alert security personnel and a dedicated, on-site police officer immediately initiated a pursuit.

Security managed to detain one suspect at the scene, while the remaining three fled in a stolen Honda CR-V. However, their escape was short-lived.

A person is pursued after hammer-wielding suspects were spotted Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025, at Erin Mills Town Centre in Mississauga, Ont.

Officers from the 11 Division Community Intervention and Response Team quickly located the vehicle and strategically boxed it in, preventing a dangerous high-speed chase. A brief foot pursuit followed, ending with the arrest of the final three suspects.

Remarkably, the entire operation – from the initial sighting of the suspects to their capture – took less than three minutes. No one was injured during the attempted robbery, and no property was taken from the mall.

Investigators quickly discovered a connection to a prior incident, revealing that the same group had allegedly attempted a robbery in York Region just hours earlier, also without success.

The four individuals, ranging in age from 14 to 17, now face a series of charges including robbery, attempted offenses, possession of stolen property, and disguise with intent. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, their identities are protected.

Elsewhere in the region, tragedy struck on Highway 400 near Vaughan, resulting in the deaths of two men. A passenger vehicle, operating as a ride-share, collided with a transport truck after hitting a guardrail while exiting the highway.

The two rear-seat passengers, both men in their 30s from Bradford, were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, a 50-year-old man from Toronto, sustained critical injuries and was rushed to a hospital. The truck driver was unharmed.

In Toronto, emergency services responded to a tent fire near Cherry Beach, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to two individuals. This incident follows a similar event just days prior, where a woman was found on fire inside a tent in Etobicoke, highlighting a concerning pattern.
