TEXAS TERRORIST NABBED: New Year's Eve SAVED!

TEXAS TERRORIST NABBED: New Year's Eve SAVED!

The approaching celebration of a new year was shadowed by a chilling revelation: a Texas man, just 21 years old, has been arrested and accused of actively plotting to aid ISIS. The timing, days before massive New Year’s Eve gatherings, amplified the gravity of the situation and the potential for devastating consequences.

John Michael Garza Jr., of Midlothian, Texas, now faces federal charges for attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. The accusation stems from a meticulously tracked series of events, culminating in a direct exchange with an undercover operative.

The investigation began quietly in mid-October, sparked by a concerned observation of Garza’s online activity. An undercover employee with the New York City Police Department noticed his consistent engagement with pro-ISIS accounts and disturbing expressions of support for the group’s extremist ideology.

Garza’s digital footprint revealed a pattern of escalating involvement. He wasn’t simply observing; he was actively disseminating ISIS propaganda, sharing official releases and graphic videos – including depictions of suicide bombings – with individuals he believed were fellow supporters.

This online support quickly transitioned into tangible assistance. Garza began sending small amounts of cryptocurrency, a digital lifeline to those he thought were fighting for ISIS. But the recipients weren’t who he believed them to be.

The pivotal moment arrived on December 22nd. Garza met with an undercover FBI agent, believing he was handing over crucial components for a bomb to a committed ISIS operative. He didn’t just provide the materials; he detailed how to mix them, chillingly suggesting the addition of nails to maximize the potential for injury and death.

He even offered to provide an instructional video, a step-by-step guide to assembling a deadly device. This wasn’t idle talk or abstract support; it was a concrete, dangerous plan unfolding in real-time. Garza was taken into custody shortly after this exchange.

His initial court appearance occurred on December 23rd, and a hearing to determine probable cause and whether he should be detained is scheduled for December 30th. If convicted, Garza could face up to two decades in federal prison, a stark consequence for his alleged actions.

The case serves as a stark reminder of the persistent threat of terrorism and the dedication of law enforcement agencies working tirelessly to protect the public. It underscores the importance of vigilance, both online and in communities, to identify and disrupt these dangerous plots before they can come to fruition.
