The petition, already boasting nearly 80,000 signatures, doesn’t center on any alleged wrongdoing, but rather accuses Minaj of a disturbing mental state and “erratic behavior.” It alleges she is “spiraling out of control” and even experiencing “psychosis,” a deeply concerning and unsubstantiated claim.
At the heart of the petition lies a grievance over Minaj’s public disagreements and perceived harassment of others. However, the true catalyst appears to be her recent appearance at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest, where she openly embraced conservative principles and earned the moniker “Nicki MAGAJ.”
This situation exposes a glaring hypocrisy. For years, activists have passionately decried harsh immigration policies and championed the rights of immigrants. Now, they are actively seeking to expel a legal immigrant – Minaj herself – who arrived as a child, built a successful life, and became a naturalized U.S. citizen.
This isn’t an isolated incident. Minaj has long faced criticism for refusing to conform to prevailing political narratives. Her skepticism regarding COVID-19 vaccines and willingness to engage with figures like Tucker Carlson have previously drawn ire from the left.
Her appearance at AmericaFest, however, ignited a new level of backlash. There, Minaj spoke powerfully about faith, freedom, and the plight of persecuted Christians in Nigeria, declaring a firm stance against silencing dissenting voices. She refused to be intimidated.
Minaj didn’t shy away from expressing her admiration for Trump, calling him “handsome” and offering “utmost respect.” She also delivered pointed critiques of other political figures, showcasing a newfound boldness in her political commentary.
“I’m not gonna back down anymore,” Minaj declared at the event, a sentiment she repeated with unwavering conviction. “I’m not gonna back down ever again.” This resolute stance has clearly resonated with some, but enraged others.
Prior to AmericaFest, Minaj brought the issue of religious persecution to the United Nations, delivering a passionate speech about the systematic slaughter of Christians in Nigeria – a crisis she believes has been largely ignored.
