MOTHER & DAUGHTER VANISH IN ICY GRIP OF THE SEA!

The sea at Withernsea turned treacherous on a frigid Friday afternoon, claiming the lives of two individuals and sparking a desperate search for another. A seemingly ordinary day at the beach quickly descended into tragedy as powerful waves swept a young girl out to sea.

Mark Ratcliffe, a 67-year-old man, acted without hesitation, plunging into the icy water in a selfless attempt to rescue the girl who was being relentlessly pulled away. He became a hero in the most heartbreaking sense, sacrificing his own life in the face of overwhelming danger.

His family’s grief is immeasurable, describing him as a “true selfless hero with a heart of gold.” They spoke of shattered lives and a void that can never be filled, remembering a loving husband, father, son, brother, and a cherished grandfather.

The tragedy extended beyond Mark’s loss. Sarah Keeling and her daughter, Grace Keeling, have been identified as the other victims of the incident. The sea’s unforgiving power claimed them both, adding another layer of sorrow to an already devastating event.

Witnesses described a chaotic scene, with frantic attempts to reach the girl. A cafe worker bravely threw a life ring, but a powerful wave overwhelmed the young girl’s grasp, pulling her under the surface. Four local men immediately joined the desperate rescue effort.
