AMORIM AXED! Hargreaves DEMANDS United Re-Sign Forgotten Star!

AMORIM AXED! Hargreaves DEMANDS United Re-Sign Forgotten Star!

The news of Ruben Amorim’s dismissal at Manchester United arrived swiftly, a shockwave even considering the club’s recent instability. Former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves believes the timing was unexpected, hinting at deeper issues bubbling beneath the surface – a familiar pattern seen recently at Chelsea with Enzo Maresca. This sudden fall, he suggests, could trigger a cascade of changes across the Premier League.

Hargreaves pointed to a potential breakdown in communication, recalling the challenges of managing a club where numerous voices vie for influence. He described a situation where too many opinions can create discord, potentially mirroring what transpired between Amorim and the United board. Despite the disappointing outcome, Hargreaves expressed sympathy for all involved, acknowledging the genuine effort to succeed.

Amorim’s tenure, though brief, was marked by ambition and a willingness to make difficult decisions. He was a manager who wasn’t afraid to be direct, perhaps even oversharing in his communication. While his methods didn’t translate to success in the intensely competitive Premier League, Hargreaves believes Amorim possesses the qualities to thrive elsewhere, praising his intelligence and personable nature.

The sacking marks a turbulent period for Manchester United, with Amorim becoming the sixth permanent manager to depart since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement. A key aspect of Amorim’s approach involved a ruthless assessment of the squad, leading to some players being effectively sidelined. This included a significant shift in plans for Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s loan spell at Barcelona has been a resounding success, with six goals and eight assists in just sixteen games. While the player himself desires a permanent move, Hargreaves hopes to see Rashford return to Old Trafford, recognizing his undeniable talent. He believes Rashford was unfairly burdened with responsibility, a weight that should have been shared more evenly throughout the team.

Hargreaves argued that Rashford, at his age, shouldn’t have been the focal point of the attack. He envisioned a scenario where Rashford would have flourished as a third or fourth option, allowing him to develop without the immense pressure. The emphasis on young players to carry the team, he felt, was a misstep.

Looking ahead, Hargreaves believes a more experienced striker, aged 26-28, could have provided a crucial foundation for the team, allowing the younger players to learn and grow. He reiterated his conviction in Rashford’s abilities, stating that Manchester United could greatly benefit from his return.

The change in management could also offer a lifeline to Kobbie Mainoo, who had previously sought a move away from the club. Hargreaves anticipates Mainoo will immediately reclaim his place in the team, particularly with a potential shift to a back four formation.

Darren Fletcher will now take the reins on an interim basis, while the club searches for a permanent replacement. Oliver Glasner and Thomas Tuchel are currently considered frontrunners for the position, signaling a new chapter for Manchester United as they attempt to navigate a period of significant change.
