A year after the events of January 6th, a Democrat-led hearing featured former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and her opening remarks immediately drew attention – not for their content, but for her delivery, which many observers found strikingly unusual.
Pelosi directly accused former President Trump of inciting an insurrection and falsely claimed he deliberately delayed deploying the National Guard to the Capitol on that day. She recounted, with visible emotion, what she described as desperate pleas for assistance over a period of three hours, alleging Trump “took joy” in the unfolding chaos and “was savoring it.”
However, newly surfaced evidence casts a dramatically different light on Pelosi’s narrative. Footage released by the House Oversight Committee reveals Pelosi herself taking responsibility for the events of January 6th, stating plainly, “I take responsibility.” This admission directly contradicts her later public statements.
For over three years, Pelosi spearheaded a multi-million dollar effort to construct a narrative blaming Trump for the Capitol unrest. Yet, this new footage suggests a far more complex reality, one where Pelosi’s own actions played a significant role.
Reports indicate Pelosi’s security team received warnings the night before January 6th about a potential breach of the Capitol. Despite these warnings, she chose not to authorize the deployment of the National Guard, a decision that raises serious questions about her intentions.
Further complicating the picture, Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser also declined offers of National Guard support on that day, mirroring Pelosi’s decision. The reasons cited were political, but the consequences were undeniable.

When confronted about her decision to withhold the National Guard, Pelosi reacted with visible anger, abruptly silencing a reporter and accusing them of peddling “Republican talking points.” Her outburst only intensified the growing scrutiny surrounding her actions.
