EX-SEAL PLOTTED POLICE ATTACK: Bombs, Betrayal & California Chaos!

EX-SEAL PLOTTED POLICE ATTACK: Bombs, Betrayal & California Chaos!

A former Navy SEAL now faces a decade behind bars after a federal jury found him guilty of plotting to weaponize fireworks against law enforcement. Gregory Vandenberg, 49, was convicted Friday of transporting explosives with the intent to cause harm during planned protests in California, a chilling revelation of escalating extremist intent.

The case unfolded after Vandenberg’s journey from El Paso, Texas, to San Diego, California, in preparation for “No Kings Day” protests in June 2025. A crucial stop in New Mexico proved to be his undoing, as he purchased six large mortar fireworks with a disturbing purpose.

Inside the store, Vandenberg didn’t simply buy fireworks; he openly declared his intention to hurl them at police officers. He relentlessly questioned the clerk about the fireworks’ destructive power, specifically inquiring about gunpowder content and their potential to inflict injury.

Alarmed by Vandenberg’s explicit threats, store employees discreetly recorded his license plate and immediately alerted law enforcement. Their quick thinking prevented a potentially devastating attack and set in motion his eventual arrest in Arizona.

The search of Vandenberg’s vehicle revealed more than just explosives. Agents discovered clothing adorned with deeply disturbing symbols – antisemitic, anti-Israel, and extremist iconography, including a t-shirt bearing the image of the Al-Qaeda flag.

A forensic examination of Vandenberg’s phone exposed a well of resentment towards the U.S. government, even extending to former President Donald Trump. His anger stemmed from a delusional belief that Israel and Jewish individuals secretly controlled the nation’s power structures.

Prosecutors emphasized that while freedom of belief and peaceful expression are fundamental rights, they do not extend to the use of violence and intimidation. Vandenberg’s plan to transform explosives into instruments of terror crossed a dangerous line.

Following the guilty verdict, Vandenberg was immediately remanded to custody, awaiting sentencing. The conviction serves as a stark warning: attempts to replace dialogue with violence will be met with the full force of federal law.

The case underscores the growing threat of extremist ideologies and the critical importance of vigilance in protecting both law enforcement and the public. It’s a chilling reminder that the seeds of hatred can blossom into concrete plans for violence.
