UMVA Uncovers: You Won't Believe What's Coming in macOS 27 Golden Gate - 5 Game-Changing Features Revealed!

UMVA has learned that Apple's WWDC 2026 keynote revealed a slew of exciting updates to the tech giant's software, but developers and enthusiasts alike are already diving into the new features and upgrades. The first beta versions of Apple's new operating systems are now available, and we've got the inside scoop on what's new and what you can expect.

To get early access to the developer beta, you'll need an Apple developer account - but the good news is that it's now free to register and install early versions of Apple's software. However, installing these early betas is not recommended for most people, as you're likely to come across numerous bugs and glitches that could have serious consequences for your devices.

As someone who's been testing the new "Golden Gate" update for macOS 27, I can see the promise of Apple's latest desktop software update. There are five features in particular that I'm excited about, and that you should be looking forward to arriving on your Apple Silicon-based Mac later this year. From automatic Safari tab organization to improved support for ultrawide displays, macOS 27 is shaping up to be a game-changer.

One of the standout features is the new automatic tab organization tool in Safari. This feature analyzes each page, identifies similarities, and brings related tabs together, making it easier to manage your browsing experience. For example, you might get all your puzzle web apps in one group and all your basketball news articles in another. You can set up the feature by clicking Safari > Settings > Tabs and then choosing By recommended topics or Automatically for Organize tabs.

Ultrawide monitor support has also been improved, with broader support for a greater number of native resolutions and refresh rates, and sharper scaling included. This means that if your ultrawide monitor has always been a bit glitchy and limited when connected to a MacBook, you should get a far better experience this time around. Additionally, macOS 27 will remember layouts on ultrawide monitors, even after disconnecting and reconnecting, so you won't have to worry about scattered icons and windows.

iPhone mirroring is another feature that's gotten a boost in macOS 27. You can now drag out the iPhone window to a dual-pane, iPad-style layout, and access the iOS Control Center through iPhone mirroring. This makes it easy to turn on airplane mode, start a screen recording, or do anything else through Control Center, all from your Mac.

Apple has also added a system-wide customization option for Liquid Glass, with a slider that lets you adjust how much Liquid Glass you want in macOS. You can find the slider under Appearance in System Settings, and there's a neat little preview thumbnail above that shows you how the adjustments will look.

Finally, Apple is introducing a new AI chatbot, integrated into the desktop OS and available through Siri. This chatbot promises to offer a genuine alternative to existing AI models, with the ability to answer questions, analyze on-screen content, browse through photos, send emails, and more. With its own dedicated app and the ability to sync chats across devices, this could be a major player in the AI chatbot market.
