YALE BETRAYED: Iranian Regime Propagandist INVADES Campus!

YALE BETRAYED: Iranian Regime Propagandist INVADES Campus!

A storm of controversy is brewing at Yale University. Trita Parsi, a figure deeply divisive within the Iranian American community, is scheduled to speak at an event hosted by the John Quincy Adams Society this Thursday, a move that’s ignited fierce debate as unrest continues to grip Iran.

Shay Khatiri, a senior fellow at the Yorktown Institute who grew up in the heart of Iran, witnessed firsthand the complexities of the nation. He doesn’t mince words when discussing Parsi’s influence, asserting that accusations have long followed Parsi’s work – accusations of actively lobbying for policies that would benefit the current Iranian regime.

Khatiri points to the founding of the National Iranian American Council, or NIAC, by Parsi. He describes NIAC not as a neutral voice, but as a dedicated lobbying group pushing for the lifting of sanctions and ultimately, the Iran nuclear deal negotiated under President Obama. This, Khatiri believes, represents an unofficial promotion of the Islamic Republic’s interests.

The core of the concern lies in what Khatiri describes as a pattern of disinformation. He alleges Parsi downplays the violence initiated by the Iranian government against protestors, framing the unrest as chaotic and leaderless – claims directly refuted by those on the ground and the clear rallying cry for the return of Reza Pahlavi, son of the exiled crown prince.

The Quincy Institute, however, defends the event as a valuable opportunity for intellectual exchange. They frame it as a seminar focused on the principles of Realism and Restraint in foreign policy, a chance for students to engage in open conversation. Parsi himself holds a prominent position within the institute as co-founder and executive vice president.

But the timing is particularly sensitive. Iran has been engulfed in protests since December, fueled by economic hardship and a desire for fundamental change. These demonstrations have been met with brutal force, with reports suggesting a staggering toll: at least 16,500 protestors killed and over 330,000 injured, according to assessments reviewed by The Sunday Times.

Khatiri explains that Parsi advocates for working with elements *within* the existing Iranian system to achieve change, a position deeply unacceptable to the diaspora and those actively risking their lives in the streets of Iran. They demand a complete dismantling of the current regime, not a negotiated compromise.

Adding another layer to the controversy, Yale University itself faces scrutiny regarding its ideological leanings. A recent analysis of faculty political donations revealed not a single contribution to Republican campaigns, while a separate study found a significant number of departments with no Republican faculty members at all.

The situation has drawn the attention of lawmakers. Congressman Darrell Issa sharply criticized what he sees as a pattern of Democratic weakness in confronting Iran, citing both the Obama-era nuclear deal and the Biden administration’s current approach. He argues for a firm stance against the regime and unwavering support for the Iranian people.

Former President Donald Trump recently echoed this sentiment, calling for “new leadership in Iran” and voicing his support for the protestors striving to overthrow the current government. The event at Yale, and the presence of Trita Parsi, has become a focal point in this escalating debate.
