BEZOS EXPLODES: Did He REALLY Say That?!

A whirlwind erupted on social media when a prediction market, Polymarket, claimed Jeff Bezos advised Gen Z entrepreneurs to gain experience at companies like McDonald’s or Palantir before launching their own ventures. The post quickly exploded, garnering millions of views and sparking a flurry of reactions.

Bezos, rarely engaging directly with such online chatter, swiftly and emphatically denied the claim. He responded directly to Polymarket’s post with a concise, “Nope. Not sure why polymarket made this up.” This direct rebuttal immediately cast doubt on the initial report.

The speed of Bezos’s response was notable, as his last public post on the platform had been months prior, a welcome message for a new company leader. A community note was quickly added to the original Polymarket tweet, confirming Bezos’s denial and alerting users to the misinformation.

The exchange didn’t stop there. Elon Musk, owner of the platform, chimed in with a playful observation, referencing the President’s own past employment at McDonald’s. This added another layer of intrigue to the unfolding situation.

The origin of the initial claim remains unclear, but reports suggest it stemmed from Bezos’s comments during Italian Tech Week in November. He had, in fact, encouraged young people to gain practical experience before diving into entrepreneurship.

Bezos cautioned that while exceptions like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg exist, they are precisely that – exceptions. He advocated for young individuals to first immerse themselves in established “best practices” companies to build a strong foundation of fundamental skills.

🤷‍♂️

He believes this approach significantly increases the likelihood of success. Absorbing knowledge and experience, he argued, provides a crucial advantage when the time comes to launch a new business, offering a more informed and strategic starting point.
