VENZUEALA ON BRINK: US WARNS 'IMMINENT' COLLAPSE!

VENZUEALA ON BRINK: US WARNS 'IMMINENT' COLLAPSE!

The United States currently has no plans for further military intervention in Venezuela, but maintains the option to respond decisively to any direct and immediate threat. This assurance came from a high-ranking official during a recent Senate hearing, clarifying the nation’s stance on the volatile situation.

While emphasizing that a military presence is limited to embassy security, the official outlined a specific scenario that could trigger a shift in policy: the emergence of a hostile force, such as an Iranian drone factory, posing a danger to U.S. interests or allies in the region. In such a case, the president would not hesitate to act in self-defense.

Earlier statements had indicated a willingness to use force to ensure cooperation from Venezuela’s interim leadership, should diplomatic efforts prove insufficient. However, the official stressed that this was a contingency plan, and the hope remains that such measures will not be necessary.

The recent operation that led to the removal of the former leader was described not as a war or occupation, but as a targeted law enforcement action. No U.S. troops are currently stationed within Venezuela, and the operation was carefully designed to avoid escalating into a broader conflict.

Concerns regarding the legality of the operation, particularly the lack of prior Congressional approval, have been raised. However, it was argued that the swift and decisive nature of the action, coupled with concerns about potential leaks, justified the limited consultation with lawmakers.

The operation itself was described as a highly specific, “trigger-based” event, dependent on a precise alignment of circumstances that only materialized in late December. It was a possibility that nearly didn’t happen, requiring a unique confluence of factors.

The operation, announced in early January, involved a “large-scale strike” against Caracas, resulting in the capture of the former leader and his wife. Both individuals were subsequently transported to New York and faced charges in federal court, pleading not guilty.

This action followed months of escalating pressure on Venezuela, including a series of operations targeting alleged drug traffickers in Latin American waters. These efforts were presented as part of a broader strategy to combat the flow of illicit drugs into the United States.

Prior to the operation, the U.S. had already signaled its lack of recognition for the former leader, characterizing him as the head of a drug cartel. Calls for his resignation had been made, suggesting a desire for a peaceful transition of power.

Currently, the U.S. is supporting the vice president as the head of Venezuela’s interim government, aiming to facilitate a stable and democratic future for the nation. The focus remains on supporting a legitimate government and addressing the underlying issues that contributed to the crisis.

Should U.S. military forces become involved in Venezuela in a sustained capacity, the official stated that Congress would be notified within 48 hours and required to approve any engagement lasting longer than 60 days. This commitment underscores the importance of Congressional oversight in matters of national security.
