IRANIAN HITMAN GETS 15 YEARS—AMERICA WAS THE TARGET!

IRANIAN HITMAN GETS 15 YEARS—AMERICA WAS THE TARGET!

A chilling plot to silence a voice of dissent culminated in a New York courtroom as Carlisle Rivera received the maximum 15-year sentence for attempting to assassinate Iranian American journalist Masih Alinejad.

Judge Lewis J. Liman condemned Rivera’s actions, emphasizing the “great harm” inflicted upon Alinejad and her husband, describing the messages exchanged during the planning of the 2024 Brooklyn attack as deeply disturbing.

Alinejad, a prominent human rights activist, addressed the court with unwavering resolve, stating the repeated attempts on her life weren’t merely personal threats, but direct assaults on American citizens and the nation’s sovereignty.

“I’m just a woman,” she declared, “My weapon is my voice. My weapon is my social media.” She passionately urged the judge to deliver the harshest possible sentence, hoping to deter future attacks targeting individuals within U.S. borders.

Rivera, 51, offered a somber apology to the court, expressing deep regret for his involvement in the conspiracy. A brief, emotional moment unfolded during a recess when Rivera’s fiancée approached Alinejad, overcome with tears and remorse.

Alinejad, demonstrating remarkable compassion, told the woman she wasn’t fighting solely for herself, but for the safety and freedom of all Americans. This act of forgiveness didn’t diminish the gravity of the situation, but highlighted her commitment to a broader cause.

Outside the courthouse, Alinejad issued a stark warning: the brutal tactics used to suppress dissent in Iran must not take root on American soil. She displayed images of Iranians killed during protests, a poignant reminder of the regime’s reach and ruthlessness.

She called for decisive action, drawing a parallel between Iran’s leadership and Nicolás Maduro, recently captured and brought to the U.S. to face charges. “Removing terrorists is not tragedy,” she asserted, “It’s a sign of justice.”

Alinejad clarified she doesn’t advocate for military intervention in Iran, but for the removal of its current leaders. U.S. authorities have previously linked Iran’s Revolutionary Guard to multiple plots against her, as well as a separate scheme targeting former President Trump – allegations Tehran vehemently denies.

Alinejad’s journey began with her escape from Iran in 2009 following the disputed presidential election. She became a U.S. citizen in 2019 and quickly rose to prominence, championing the rights of Iranian women and challenging the regime’s oppressive laws.

This sentencing follows the convictions of two other men last year, who received 25-year sentences for a 2022 plot to kidnap and kill Alinejad. Intelligence reports indicate Iran placed a $500,000 bounty on her head, underscoring the lengths to which the regime will go to silence her.
