A young girl’s life was irrevocably altered after an encounter in a park, leading to a harrowing trial at Warwick Crown Court. Two men, Ahmad Mulakhil and Mohammad Kabir, stand accused of preying on her vulnerability, their actions casting a dark shadow over a seemingly ordinary evening.
The prosecution alleges that Kabir initially attempted to take the girl from the park, an act described as having a clear, sinister purpose. While she didn’t go with him, the presence of Mulakhil nearby proved far more devastating. He remained in the area, eventually intercepting the girl and leading her away from safety.
The path led to Cheverel Place, a secluded cul-de-sac where, the court heard, Mulakhil subjected her to a brutal rape, sexual assault, and the creation of deeply disturbing indecent images. He faces charges of child abduction, multiple counts of rape and sexual assault, and possessing illegal images.
Mulakhil has admitted to one charge – oral rape – but vehemently denies the more serious accusations of abduction, rape, and creating indecent photographs. His defense centers on a claim of consensual activity, a claim the prosecution intends to dismantle.
Kabir, also denying all allegations, is accused of intentional strangulation and attempting to abduct the girl. The prosecution argues his initial attempt to take her suggests a predatory intent, a deliberate targeting of innocence.
The girl, described as exceptionally young and vulnerable, confided in trusted adults the same night, revealing not only the sexual assault but also claims of physical violence – being “smacked and pulled.” These disclosures paint a picture of a terrifying ordeal.
Evidence gathered by investigators reveals a disturbing connection between the two defendants. Mulakhil’s phone contained both indecent images and pictures of him with Kabir, confirming a pre-existing relationship. Crucially, Mulakhil’s DNA was found on the girl’s neck and clothing, placing him at the scene of the assault.
Kabir, when confronted with CCTV footage and phone records placing him with Mulakhil on multiple occasions, including the day after the alleged offenses, initially offered denials. He later conceded his presence in some of the footage but refused to provide any explanation or identify anyone shown.
Mulakhil, through an interpreter, repeatedly insisted the girl followed him willingly, denying any coercion or force. He claimed a friend told him she was 19, and that she appeared older than her actual age. He attributed limited communication to language barriers, relying heavily on body language.
The prosecution challenges this narrative, highlighting the implausibility of the girl’s claim of being 19 – a lie so obvious that Mulakhil’s reaction betrayed his disbelief. The trial continues, seeking to unravel the truth behind this devastating case and bring justice to the young victim.
