For over a decade, Apple enthusiasts have wondered: where did the iPhone docks go? The last official Lightning Dock from Apple surfaced in 2015, after which the company shifted focus to cables and MagSafe pucks designed for third-party stands. A curious absence, considering Apple’s renowned design aesthetic.
Inside Apple Stores, a different story unfolds. Sleek, white MagSafe docks and stands showcase every device, creating an inviting display. Yet, these beautifully crafted accessories remain exclusive to the store environment – untouchable by customers eager to complete their setup.
Now, a new online seller, based in Australia and calling itself AppleUnsold, is challenging that exclusivity. They claim to offer “all the Apple products you can’t buy,” from store display models to specialized tools used in the Genius Bar.
The inventory is remarkable: iPhone MagSafe demo chargers, stands for the AirPods Max, even trays designed for the Apple Vision Pro. Diagnostic cables and restore docks for Apple Watch and HomePod are also available, hinting at a source within Apple’s internal operations.
The operation exists in a gray area, potentially skirting legal boundaries. However, AppleUnsold also maintains a presence on eBay, boasting a perfect 100% positive feedback rating from its initial 15 customers. One buyer confirmed the authenticity of a MagSafe display stand, describing it as “Genuine product.”
Demand is clearly high, as many items are already sold out. AppleUnsold anticipates a full restock by mid-February, but the window of opportunity may be short. It wouldn’t be surprising if Apple intervened to halt sales before then, protecting its carefully controlled brand image.
