Newly released documents have revealed disturbing images appearing to depict a former royal figure in compromising situations with a woman. The photographs, part of the extensive ‘Epstein files’ released by the US Department of Justice, show a man widely believed to be the disgraced duke looming over a woman lying on the floor.
One image shows the man crouching on all fours above the woman, her face obscured. Another captures him staring directly into the camera, his expression unreadable. A third depicts a concerning physical interaction, with the man touching the woman’s abdomen.
Beyond the images, the released documents contain a series of emails that challenge previous statements made by the former prince regarding his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. He had long maintained he severed ties with Epstein following a 2006 investigation, only reconnecting to formally end their association in 2010.
However, an email exchange from August 2010 – two years *after* Epstein’s guilty plea for soliciting a minor – reveals a different narrative. Epstein wrote to the address labeled ‘The Duke,’ mentioning a “friend” he thought he might enjoy meeting for dinner.
The reply, signed simply “A,” demonstrates eagerness: “Of course. I am in Geneva until the morning of 22nd but would be delighted to see her. Will she be bringing a message from you? Please give her my contact details to get in touch.” This exchange directly contradicts his earlier claims of limited contact.
Further correspondence shows the former prince actively seeking information about the woman. He inquired about what Epstein had told her about him and requested her email address. Epstein responded, describing her as “26, russian, clevere beautiful, trustworthy and yes she has your email.”
The exchange continued with a brief, almost cryptic exchange about freedom. The former prince asked, “That was quick! How are you? Good to be free?” Epstein’s reply was redacted, but he added, “great to be free of many things.”
These revelations come amidst ongoing scrutiny of the former prince’s association with Epstein, who was found dead in his jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was officially ruled a suicide.
The former prince has consistently denied allegations of sexual assault brought by Virginia Giuffre, who claims she was trafficked by Epstein. He settled a civil sexual assault claim with Ms. Giuffre in 2022 for millions, despite claiming he did not know her.
The fallout from these allegations led to his removal from royal duties in 2019, following a controversial interview. The recent release of documents and Ms. Giuffre’s memoir intensified public pressure, ultimately resulting in the King stripping him of his royal titles last year.
