Homan’s career isn’t defined by a single administration. He’s served under both Republican and Democratic presidents, a fact often overlooked in the current political climate. In 2013, President Obama even recognized his dedication with a prestigious award for distinguished service, acknowledging his effectiveness in enforcing immigration laws.
Those who know Homan emphasize his unwavering commitment to law and order, regardless of political affiliation. He’s described as a dedicated patriot focused solely on upholding the law, a “known entity” who brings clarity and experience to a volatile situation.
Deployed to Minnesota on Monday, Homan now reports directly to President Trump, tasked with leading a crackdown on immigration enforcement. This move comes after two Americans were fatally shot during operations involving federal law enforcement, sparking outrage and accusations from Democrats.

Homan’s career began in 1984 as a Border Patrol agent, evolving through the ranks as the landscape of immigration enforcement changed. His leadership within ICE, specifically heading Enforcement and Removal Operations under President Obama, demonstrates a consistent record of results.
