This initial release, identified as Build 26300.7674, is delivered in an intriguing format. Instead of a massive overhaul, the update arrives as an “enablement package,” a clever method of unlocking capabilities already present within the operating system.

The influence of Copilot extends beyond File Explorer. It’s anticipated to enhance Windows Search, directly within the taskbar, offering intelligent assistance at your fingertips. These Copilot features are likely to be optional, allowing users to tailor their experience.

Before 26H2 arrives, Windows 11 will receive 26H1 in the spring of 2026. However, this release is fundamentally different – it’s not a feature update. Instead, it focuses on enabling compatibility with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon X2 processors and potentially other Arm-based systems.
