ILLEGAL RETURN: Deported Criminal's £200K Drug Den EXPOSED!

A desperate scramble across garden fences couldn't save him. Redis Shahini, a man once forcibly removed from the UK, found himself in handcuffs after attempting to rebuild a life – and a criminal enterprise – within its borders.

Police in South Wales raided a seemingly ordinary semi-detached house in Ystalyfera, uncovering a sophisticated cannabis farm stretching across three floors. Inside, 263 plants flourished, representing a potential street value of up to £200,000.

Shahini, already deported in 2024 after a previous conviction for the same crime, had re-entered the country via a small boat, seeking asylum. When that application failed, he turned back to the illicit trade that had previously landed him in trouble.

The scene unfolded with swift action. Shahini bolted from the house, attempting to lose officers in a chaotic run through neighboring yards. But the pursuing officers were relentless, tackling him to the ground and ending his escape.

Appearing at Nottingham Crown Court, Shahini pleaded guilty to producing a Class B drug and admitted breaching his deportation order. The judge sentenced him to 22 months in prison, with a recommendation for further deportation upon his release.

Authorities emphasized the significance of community intelligence in dismantling the operation. The grow house wasn’t just a source of illegal profit; it posed a risk of attracting further criminal activity and creating a dangerous fire hazard.

Shahini’s defense claimed his involvement in the drug trade stemmed from a “blood feud” in Albania and was an aberration from his true character. However, this explanation failed to sway the court, marking a repeat offense and a clear disregard for the law.

The case arrives amidst broader discussions about immigration and deportation policies. While some advocate for stricter measures, concerns remain about the potential for overreach and the targeting of vulnerable individuals.
