Significant financial resources are being directed towards abortion providers within the state. Millions in emergency funds were allocated last year to sustain facilities impacted by changes in federal funding, and further millions are planned for distribution.
These actions coincide with an abortion rate in California that significantly exceeds the national average. Estimates place the rate as high as nearly one in three pregnancies ending in abortion, a statistic that raises profound questions about societal values.
This devaluation of life isn’t limited to reproductive choices. The state’s assisted suicide program has seen a dramatic increase in participation since its inception, with the number of prescriptions for life-ending drugs quadrupling in just seven years.
Alongside this rise, the overall suicide rate is also climbing, mirroring a national trend. Simultaneously, the fate of embryos created through in-vitro fertilization (IVF) is increasingly precarious, with reports of loss and destruction occurring even as the state welcomes “IVF tourism.”
