Authorities responded to reports of criminal activity at the warehouse around 1:30 a.m., discovering a broken window and signs of a small fire.
The incident unfolded just days after a chilling attempt to set fire to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) office building in Meridian, Idaho. The attack involved a brazen theft – an ambulance stolen directly from a hospital bay.
The suspect, still unidentified, reportedly drove the stolen ambulance with deliberate force into the North Portico of the DHS building. Gas cans, strategically hidden nearby, were brought into play, suggesting a carefully planned act.
Investigators believe the perpetrator attempted to ignite a flammable substance both inside and outside the ambulance. Fortunately, the suspect was interrupted by responding law enforcement before they could fully execute their plan, averting a potentially catastrophic blaze.
