Investigators confirmed the device, one of two discovered at the scene, was a fully functional improvised explosive. Packed with screws and ignited by a hobby fuse, it possessed the terrifying potential to inflict devastating injuries or even death upon dozens. Emir Balat and Ibrahim Kayumi are now in custody, facing charges related to the attempted attack.
