Former Chelsea captain John Terry commented on the recent £117 million transfer of midfielder Morgan Rogers to Chelsea, highlighting the club’s Champions League pedigree.

Although Arsenal appeared poised to secure the 23‑year‑old, Chelsea outmaneuvered them, completing Rogers’ medical after the World Cup and unveiling him as a new signing within 24 hours.
Rogers agreed to a seven‑year contract, and the fee surpasses Chelsea’s previous record transfer of Enzo Fernandez, which stood at £107 million.
Terry remarked that Rogers chose a club with a “history and potential of winning the Champions League,” suggesting the financial terms were a significant factor.
In his first interview with the club’s media team, Rogers described Chelsea as “the biggest club in London” and cited the appointment of Xabi Alonso as influential in his decision.
