The inquiry, triggered by unusual betting patterns during the 2024-25 season, has resulted in two former players being declared ineligible – not for placing bets themselves, but for refusing to cooperate with investigators.
The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions issued the ruling after a prolonged effort to uncover the truth. Investigators sought crucial records and interviews, but were met with silence. This deliberate obstruction, the committee determined, was a serious violation in itself, regardless of whether actual wagering violations could be proven.
Ryan Forrest and Landon Glasper, the former players at the center of the storm, were no longer on the team when the decision came down. However, both were active members of the roster during the period under scrutiny, making their cooperation vital to the investigation’s success.
