A quiet Wednesday morning was shattered in Toronto as police responded to two separate shooting incidents within a half hour of each other. The first, a violent home invasion, unfolded in a typically affluent neighborhood near Glencairn Avenue and Avenue Road just after 2:15 a.m.
Initial reports indicate a group of individuals forcibly entered a home, and one of the residents was shot by a suspect. The victim, thankfully, sustained injuries that are not considered life-threatening and was swiftly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Details remain scarce as investigators work to piece together the events. Currently, police have not released any descriptions of the suspects involved in the home invasion, emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
Just thirty minutes later, officers were dispatched to another shooting, this time in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area of North York. A man was discovered in the hallway of an apartment building, suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.
Like the first victim, the man’s injuries were deemed non-life-threatening, and he received immediate medical attention. Paramedics transported him to hospital for further care and observation.
At this time, authorities have found no evidence to suggest a connection between the two shootings. Both incidents are being investigated independently, with detectives pursuing all available leads.
