AUTO THEFT EMPIRE CRASHES: Brothers Exposed!

AUTO THEFT EMPIRE CRASHES: Brothers Exposed!

A shadow fell over Mississauga as Peel Regional Police uncovered a sophisticated auto theft operation, culminating in the arrest of two brothers and the recovery of a stunning $800,000 worth of stolen vehicles.

The investigation began in October 2025, quietly building momentum as detectives focused on a suspected organized crime group systematically targeting vehicles across the region. Months of meticulous work led to a decisive moment in March 2026.

Simultaneous search warrants were executed at two Mississauga residences, revealing a hidden network and ultimately leading to the recovery of thirteen stolen vehicles. The scale of the operation hinted at a well-coordinated effort to profit from the vulnerability of vehicle owners.

Sulman Dar, 28, now faces a staggering 47 charges, primarily related to possession of stolen property and repeated violations of his court-imposed release conditions. His brother, Shahroz Dar, 24, is charged with seven offences, including direct involvement in vehicle theft and further breaches of release orders.

Adding a layer of complexity, both men were already under court supervision at the time of their arrests, bound by release orders stemming from previous allegations of failing to comply with court conditions, robbery, and other property crimes. This demonstrated a pattern of disregard for the law.

Deputy Chief Marc Andrews emphasized the police force’s unwavering commitment to combating auto theft, stating that disrupting these criminal enterprises is a top priority. He affirmed that those who prey on the community for financial gain will be relentlessly pursued and held accountable.

The success of this investigation is reflected in a broader trend of declining auto theft rates within Peel Region. Police report a nearly 15% decrease in stolen vehicles in 2026 compared to the previous year, signaling a positive shift in the fight against this pervasive crime.

This case serves as a stark reminder of the hidden criminal activity that can exist within communities and the dedication of law enforcement to protect citizens and their property. The recovery of these vehicles represents a significant victory in the ongoing battle against auto theft.
