KENNEDY SCION WAGING WAR on NYC's Political ESTABLISHMENT!

KENNEDY SCION WAGING WAR on NYC's Political ESTABLISHMENT!

Jack Schlossberg, the sole grandson of President John F. Kennedy, is embarking on an unlikely journey: a congressional run in New York City. He frames his campaign not as a continuation of a political dynasty, but as a defiant challenge to the entrenched power structures of the city.

“It sounds improbable, I know,” Schlossberg admits, acknowledging the weight of his family name. “But in this race, I truly am an outsider.” He describes facing a formidable “political machine” determined to maintain control, trading endorsements and favors even before a candidate emerges.

The race was opened by the retirement of Congressman Jerry Nadler, a three-decade veteran citing a need for “generational change.” Now, a dozen Democrats are vying for his seat, but Schlossberg believes he represents a genuine break from the past.

He recounts subtle acts of resistance – being overlooked for invitations to candidate forums, discovering event details only through online postings. Yet, these slights seem to fuel his support, with individuals quietly expressing their allegiance.

“They come up after events,” Schlossberg shares, “and say, ‘I can’t say it publicly, but you have my vote.’ There’s a growing sense that this seat shouldn’t simply be handed to someone.” Despite a personal fortune and an endorsement from Nancy Pelosi, he currently trails in fundraising.

Schlossberg distinguishes himself by refusing contributions from corporate PACs, super PACs, and major AI companies. He champions a “people-powered” campaign, fueled by grassroots enthusiasm and remarkably, an average donation of just $40.

The energy is palpable. A single Instagram post during a blizzard yielded an astonishing turnout of 300 volunteers, eager to support his vision. They arrived prepared to work, wearing “Jack for New York” shirts, driven by a belief in a campaign untainted by special interests.

He draws inspiration from the recent success of Zohran Mamdani, a socialist mayoral candidate who rode an anti-establishment wave to victory. Schlossberg aims to replicate that momentum, promising to “shake things up” and carry a similar surge to Washington.

While facing criticism for his progressive policies and past statements, Schlossberg remains focused on the issues he believes resonate with his district. He points to the overwhelming support for Kamala Harris in the area as evidence of a progressive leaning.

His policy proposals include a “standard renters deduction” to ease the financial burden on tenants, targeted tariff reductions to lower costs, increased security funding for houses of worship, and a plan to curb illegal firearms. He calls the latter the “Ricochet Rule.”

Schlossberg acknowledges the quiet support he receives, recognizing that many voters may hesitate to publicly declare their allegiance. “The secret will get out eventually,” he predicts, “when we deliver a victory in June.”

The Democratic primary is set for June 23rd, and the winner is widely expected to secure the seat in this heavily Democratic district. Schlossberg’s campaign represents a bold attempt to redefine political power, challenging the status quo and appealing directly to the people.
