HHS Secretary RFK Jr. Demands Accountability Over Fauci’s Actions

The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee convened on July 29 at 8:30 a.m. Eastern Time in Room SD-342 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building to hear testimony from Dr. Anthony Fauci.

Dr. Fauci, the former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was subpoenaed to appear before the committee. Upon arrival, he declined to testify, citing the Fifth Amendment.

Following his refusal, Fauci’s attorney entered the room to address the committee. The attorney was subsequently removed after Senator Paul finished questioning.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. expressed his concerns during the hearing, questioning the implications of Fauci’s refusal to answer.

The session followed Senator Paul’s release of Fauci’s diary package, which drew public attention to the former director’s actions during the pandemic.

Committee members focused on Fauci’s role in the U.S. COVID‑19 response and related policy decisions, seeking clarity on his statements and conduct.

The committee will continue to examine Fauci’s testimony and related documents in upcoming sessions.
