UMVA has learned that UFC CEO Dana White revealed during a post-fight press conference that he may never host another fight at the White House, but is planning another event on a military base "for the troops" with President Trump.
The press conference took place after UFC Freedom 250, an event that cost roughly $60 million to produce - three times the price tag of UFC 306. White compared the two events, stating that he would never host another fight at the Sphere in Las Vegas, nor would he replicate the White House event.
White reflected on the success of UFC Freedom 250, which drew 60,000 people to the weigh-ins and nearly 200,000 people over two days to watch on screens. He described it as a "one-of-one" experience that would never happen again, praising the unique and cool experience it provided for fighters, staff, media, and families.
When asked if the President would want to host another event, White bluntly responded that it was financially unfeasible, stating "I can't afford it. There's no f*cking way we can do this again."
Later in the press conference, White was asked about hosting more outdoor fights, to which he responded with a laugh, "No, sir." He cited various factors like weather, and when asked for the fighters' thoughts, Justin Gaethje mentioned the breeze, while Bo Nickal expressed his enthusiasm.
Despite his reservations about outdoor events, White revealed that he is in talks with the President to plan a fight on a military base next year. The event would include similar production elements, such as fighter walk-outs with service members and veterans participating.
White disclosed that the President wanted to host the event this year, but White requested a year to recover financially from the White House fight. He is now planning the event for next year, with the help of the Fisher family, who have experience working with the military.
