Edward Stourton, a veteran broadcaster and journalist, has passed away at the age of 68 after living with incurable prostate cancer.
Stourton's career in journalism spanned more than four decades, during which he presented several high-profile programs, including Radio 4's Today show, for 10 years.
He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2014, but continued working until recently, despite initially being told that the disease was incurable.

Friends and colleagues have paid tribute to Stourton's "warm intelligence and wit," describing him as "one of the best colleagues" and a "rock of support and kindness."
Radio 4 controller Mohit Bakaya called him "an absolutely outstanding broadcaster," while the BBC's interim news chief Jonathan Munro said it was "far too soon to lose Ed," remembering him as "unflappable" and a "huge talent."
Stourton is survived by his wife Fiona, a senior television producer, and their children, including two sons, a daughter, and a stepdaughter.
