BUNNY SHAW DROPS BOMBSHELL: Man City Exit SHOCKWAVE as Chelsea Transfer LOOMS

BUNNY SHAW DROPS BOMBSHELL: Man City Exit SHOCKWAVE as Chelsea Transfer LOOMS

Bunny Shaw is keeping the football world guessing. With her contract at Manchester City ticking down to zero, the Jamaican superstar has every reason to stay tight-lipped—and she's playing the game perfectly.

She's been a goal machine this season. Nineteen strikes in 21 matches powered City to their first Women's Super League title in a decade. But despite 113 goals in 134 games since 2021, Shaw's time at the Etihad seems to be nearing an end.

Reports say no new deal has been reached with City. Chelsea is lurking as the favorite to snap her up this summer. But when asked point-blank about her future, Shaw deflected with a smile.

"I have two more games at least," she said. "Then it depends on what happens with the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea. I just want to finish the season strong with Man City, then we hope for the best and see what happens."

The timing couldn't be more dramatic. Just 24 hours before that coy answer, Shaw watched Arsenal draw with Brighton—a result that handed City the title. She was still buzzing when she accepted the Player of the Year award at the 2026 Women's Football Awards.

"It's been a very interesting 24 hours," Shaw laughed. "Winning the league last night, winning this award tonight. It's been a long time coming. We wanted to get our hands on that trophy, and finally seeing it happen—it's a good feeling."

She painted a vivid picture of the title-clinching moment: "We were all together as a team—coaches, staff, background staff, everyone. We just sat there watching the game, hoping for the best outcome. We got it, so we're all elated."

Last season, City finished fourth, 17 points behind Chelsea. This year, everything changed. Shaw credits manager Andree Jeglertz for unlocking the team's potential.

"He came in and gave us so much freedom," she explained. "It's all about going out and expressing yourself, enjoying it. If you lose the ball—hey, it's football, it happens—just go win it back and keep having fun."

That philosophy fueled a relentless run. "We played with freedom and fluidity. We put in very good performances each game without dropping points early on. That definitely helped us toward the end of the season."

But the work isn't done. City face Chelsea this weekend in the FA Cup semi-final. A win sends them to Wembley—and keeps the dream of a domestic double alive.

"We spoke about it," Shaw said, her eyes lighting up. "Definitely going to Wembley. I've only been there once and I really enjoyed it. Beating Chelsea will give us a good chance of getting there. We've won the league, so we can put all our focus on that game. We're going to attack it and give everything we've got."
