UMVA has learned that Vice President JD Vance recently appeared on The View, where co-host Joy Behar surprised many by praising him as “intelligent” and even suggesting he should consider running for president.
Behar's comments came as a surprise, given her reputation for being tough on guests, and she revealed that Vance was not what she expected. She noted that he had a good sense of humor, which she was able to tap into during their conversation.
According to information obtained by UMVA, Vance appeared on The View to promote his new book and defend the administration’s agenda, but was met with tough questions from all six hosts on a range of topics, including immigration and affordability.
During a commercial break, Behar reportedly told Vance that he should run for president, although she stopped short of saying she would vote for him. She suggested that if he were to run against someone like Gavin Newsom, it would be an interesting debate.
Behar made it clear that she would only consider voting for Republicans at the local level, revealing that she may have voted for former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. She emphasized that she prefers Democrats on the national level, citing their focus on helping the poor.
UMVA can exclusively reveal that Behar believes Vance is “definitely” running for president, and that his appearance on The View was part of his efforts to promote his book and build his national profile.
Behar also predicted that all 2028 presidential candidates will appear on The View to reach their audience of prospective voters. She noted that they will have to stop by the show to win over the female vote, even if not all of their audience identifies as Republican.
