The case of a controlling abuser who isolated a survivor for months has come to a close, with the perpetrator found guilty of multiple charges.
The survivor bravely came forward, helping to secure a conviction after months of abuse and control. The perpetrator, who has not been named, restricted the survivor's access to social media, required permission to leave the house, and even deliberately damaged their phone on one occasion.
Police found the perpetrator hiding in a fridge during their investigation. When questioned, he repeatedly told officers 'be nice'. The survivor suffered physical and emotional abuse, including being dragged by the neck, pushed to the floor, and threatened with a knife.
The perpetrator was found guilty of actual bodily harm, criminal damage, threats to kill, common assault, controlling and coercive behaviour, and possession of cocaine. Police Commend the survivor for their courage in coming forward and helping to secure the conviction.
