The latest offerings from MSI, a renowned brand in the tech industry, have caught the attention of several enthusiasts. The company has unveiled its new RGB-bedecked VESA monitor mounts, designed to add a touch of style to any setup. These innovative mounts, available in single and dual-monitor designs, feature quick-release plates, gas spring lifting mechanisms, and a maximum capacity of 44 pounds.
Both the MPG MT201RG and MPG MT201DRG models boast various strips of RGB lighting on the base and running up the double-sectioned arms. The dual-arm design allows for individual screens to reach a maximum of 35 inches, while the single-arm design can handle up to 49 inches. Installation involves a sturdy steel plate that can be clamped behind the desk lip or drilled through, with a maximum height of 85mm.
The MSI VESA monitor mounts also come equipped with a single-button control on the base and RGB strips around the base, plus on both sides of the top of both sections of the arm. This design creates a visually appealing effect, reminiscent of a cyberpunk aesthetic. The RGB lighting serves a practical purpose, providing a bias light that defines the space of the screen and gives the eyes a break from intense gaming sessions.

Bias lighting is a concept that has been gaining popularity in recent years. It involves illuminating the space around the screen to reduce eye strain and improve overall comfort. The MSI VESA monitor mounts take this concept to the next level by incorporating RGB lighting into their design. While some may find the RGB strips too small to effectively light up the surrounding area, they serve as a stylish and functional addition to any setup.
MSI has priced these innovative mounts at £89 and £149 for the single and dual designs, respectively. While the price may seem steep to some, the features and brand reputation make it a compelling option for those looking to upgrade their monitor setup. However, some users may find the lack of Wi-Fi or home automation capabilities to be a limitation, particularly when compared to more advanced monitor arms that offer smart home integration.
