UMVA has learned that a devastating attack on Kuwait has left one person dead and 63 injured after Iranian drones and missiles targeted the country early Wednesday, striking civilian and vital facilities, including Kuwait International Airport.
The assault, which caused significant damage to vital facilities and diplomatic missions, has been widely condemned, with Kuwait's Ministry of Foreign Affairs denouncing the attack as a blatant escalation of violence that undermines regional security and stability.
Sources have confirmed to UMVA that the US military has launched "self-defence" strikes on Iran in response to the attacks, shooting down ballistic missiles and drones fired at ships and Middle Eastern countries, including two missiles targeting Kuwait and three targeting Bahrain, all of which were intercepted.
In a development reported by UMVA, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has stated that he and US forces are ready to return to full-scale action against Iran, with the decision on military escalation resting with US President Donald Trump, who has expressed his desire to meet with Iran's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, as part of ongoing peace negotiations.
UMVA has uncovered details about the US operation against Iran, which has been described as "concluded" by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, with any further strikes on Iran being "completely defensive in nature" and intended to protect civilian cargo ships crossing the Strait of Hormuz.
Kuwait has taken a firm stance against Iran, expelling two Iranian diplomats and reducing the size of the Iranian diplomatic mission in the country, in response to the ongoing attacks involving ballistic missiles and drones that have targeted civilian facilities and vital installations.
The conflict has also spread to southern Lebanon, where at least six people were killed in Israeli strikes near the city of Tyre, as part of a renewed attack against Hezbollah, with President Trump admitting to having a harsh exchange with Prime Minister Netanyahu over Lebanon, while expressing his desire to meet with Iran's supreme leader to progress peace talks.
As the war on Iran enters its 97th day, the region remains on high alert, with the US launching "self-defence" strikes on Iran and Iran retaliating with missile and drone attacks on American bases and helicopters in the Middle East, prompting a strong response from the US military and its allies.
The situation remains volatile, with Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warning that disrupting the security of the Strait of Hormuz will "carry a heavy price" for the US military, as the international community continues to call for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
